Chapter 6, Strange encounters
I didn’t move, but I couldn’t feel Ace on me anymore. I opened my eyes, sitting up abruptly. I saw a boy in a white hoodie, now stained in blood. He wore black trousers and trainers. Beside him sat a dog, with a big ass smile. He threw his jumper at me, not even bothering to look at me. I stood up, buttoning up my jeans. I gave him back the jumper. “Why… is love just a game to you?” I could recognize that raspy tone anywhere. “Jeff!? I-it’s not what it looks like”. But he was already gone. I ran back to the mansion, my clothes and skin getting torn by all the branches. But I had to get back. I could feel a branch cut open my cheek, blood trickling out. I stopped, holding my stomach. I threw up, the taste of blood filling my mouth, I… couldn’t… go… on. But I… had to… try. I ran, holding my stomach. I kept running, even when blood spewed from my mouth, even when my limbs begged me to stop.
The last thing I could remember was getting to Slender mansion. My clothes were torn apart and covered in blood, My skin was covered in cuts and scratches. That’s when I passed out. I woke up, my head pounding, my body aching all over. I sat up, rubbing my forehead. What happened to me? “You awake now?” I looked around, and saw Jeff standing in the doorway. I could feel tears prickle in my eyes. He walked up to me, knife in hand. “P-Please, don’t…” I closed my eyes again, waiting to feel the blade cut through my skin. I heard the clattering of metal, I could feel his hand going through my hair. I winced as he tugged a strand, but that was all part of the act. I opened my eyes, still stinging with tears. Why would I, when there’s still so much to learn”. His voice seemed almost sweet.
“Oh yeah, Ben told me to give you this”, he handed me a black envelope, I froze. I carefully took it from his hand and opened it. There, glowing a faint blue, was a syringe… and a note. It said ‘Don’t forget our deal. -Ben. P.S, hope you get better’. “What deal is he talking about Faith?” / “Oh that… it’s nothing really”. I need to make something up, I can’t let Jeff find out. “It’s just a dare thing, nothing too bad” / “Then why’d Ben give you a syringe?” Crap, he’s good at this. But I can do better. “The syringe has heat treatment, so in case I go into heat again, I can use this, that’s why he added the P.S”. I think I have him fooled now.
It’s been three days since that happened, and so far, Ben’s been acting very strange. He’s almost never at the mansion, and when he is he never talks to anyone. Well today, I’m going to talk to that bastard. I stride over to his room and freeze. He’s in there alright… but he’s not alone. I peek through a crack in the door, he’s sitting at the end of his bed… talking to someone. He looks… happy. But he’s almost never happy here, he told me that himself. I quickly write a note and slip it through the door. Slowly, I back away, watching the door. It opens slightly, and I run for the hills. Then… “EEK!” I scream, bumping into Lui. “Watch where you’re going, you fucking moron!” I back away, trying to stay out of his way.
He gets down to the floor and pins me in place. I try to escape, but he’s just as strong as his brother. “Lui… g-get off”. He got closer and closer, I went as far back as I could go, worry in my eyes. He puts his finger on my lips, shushing me. “Everyone else is out, no one will see this”. / “Ben’s here though…” / “I’m sure he won’t tell”. I shut my eyes, praying he won’t do anything stupid. I could hear laughing, and… a scream? I open my eyes, to see Lui and Ben laughing their asses off, and a girl. She looked around thirteen. “Ben, what the fuck!” She said, helping me up. “You never told me about there being other animal hybrids”. / “Sorry, I’ll make sure to remember next time”. I looked down, wow… she’s just as short as Ben, maybe a bit shorter. “Ben… you never told us you had a girlfriend”. I said, wiggling my eyebrows. Both Ben and the girl went red as a fucking tomato. God, revenge feels so good. “I’m sorry Faith, but Clarity isn’t my girlfriend”. He put his hand on her shoulder. “Not yet…” whispered Lui, quite loudly.
Clarity (the girl) kicked his shins, laughing. “I’m sorry, but me and Ben are just friends, nothing more and nothing less.” I smiled, now thinking of new ways to prank them.
