Their lies, Her revenge (7)

Chapter 7, Secrets

I lay awake that night, I didn’t know what would happen next. First Jeff, then Ace, and now possibly Lui. What the fuck’s going on? I had to get out of here, and fast. I packed my bag, leaving the shirt Jeff gave me on my… no, I should say the bed. I wrote a small(ish) note pinned to the wall. Sneaking through the lounge, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt. Why should I run away? I shook my head, ‘no, stop feeling guilty about this, you’re doing this for the greater good’.

I open the door, wind blowing on my face. I quickley closed the door behind me, and ran. Once again, there was a whole lot of scratches and cutting, but I didn’t care. Freedom is all I ask for, and freedom is what I got. I outstretch my arms, no matter how many cuts I get, I’ll always feel safe in the dark. I’m done with their bullshit, their creepyness, their lies. I’m so fucking done with them. Suddenly… “Where do you think you’re going child?” I felt a cold tentacle wrap around my middle section, gripping on tightly. Welp… I’ve been caught by a maniac. “Umm… on a walk”, I say, slowly pulling out a knife, “Away from… ALL YOU FREAKS!” I snapped, slicing the tentacle off of my torso.

I ran, making sure I wouldn’t get caught. I could hear a voice call out “Get her!” I’m a fugitive now. I ran until I reached the end of the forest. Looking back, I saw what looked like an army of freaks. I stepped into the clear, moonlight shining down on me. I started to run again, adrenaline rushing through me. This was the thrill of the hunt, exept I’m the one being hunted. I could hear footsteps beind me, shouts and remarks of how they’ll kill me. But I kept running, even when my limbs begged me to stop, even when my scars opened into fresh wounds. But no matter how much blood came out, I wouldn’t stop until the very end.

I ended up running into town, it was so… empty. I ran into a shop, abandoned and quiet. They’d never find me in here. I could hear the door creak open, footsteps scurrying across the shop. I hid in a closet, shrinking into the darkest corner. I waited for someone to open the door, to finally find and kill me. The door swung open, I hid my head in my laps, rocking back and forth. “You know… I would kill you… but I can’t be bothered”. I looked up, I saw Jeff looking down at me, gripping his knife tightly. “Just, don’t leave that spot until the next day, ok”.

I wanted to hug him, seeing him made me want to go back, but… I knew I couldn’t. I nodded, keeping back the tears. Jeff closed the door, I heard voices outside. All I could do was curl up in a ball and cry. I wanted to leave, but I didn’t want to leave him behind. I ignored his orders and walked out. I saw Jeff, Lui, Jane and Slendy. I shouted “Go on, kill me, but that won’t make you any better than I am!” Jeff facepalmed, Lui went straight at me, gun ready to fire. I didn’t move, I heard two shots ring past me. Then… BANG! A shot went out, going right through my hand. I winced, pulling my hand towards me. I tried to make it heal, licking the blood away. He backed me up to a wall, pointing the pistol at my head… BANG.

I sat up, opening my eyes. I looked around, and found myself in my room. Was that really all just a dream, it felt pretty real to me. I looked at the hand Lui had shot, but there was no bullet shot, no scar, nothing… just a hand. I curled up into a ball, crying silent tears. I eventually got out of bed, climbing to the roof. I wondered about the dream I had, if it would ever come true. As I reached the roof, I looked up. The moon was out, shining bright as day. As I sat down on the cold, hard tiles, I felt as if this had happened to me before. Almost like… deja vu. “Hey, guess I’m not the only one who enjoys the dark”. I turned my head, I could see Clarity, there was a ring on her finger. I smirked. “So, he’s asked you out or what?” She looked at me, shock and embarressment filled her face. “Faith, haven’t you heard, new recruits have joined, I’m just one of the unlucky ones who needs to share a room with a boy, the ring just hides my true form”. She sat down next to me, wind blowing through her hair.

After sitting on the roof and talking for a bit, I went back down into my room. When I went back through I saw a second bed in my room. I walked over, the closet door was wide open. Yup… deja vu. I looked around…
