Chapter 1, Requests
I screamed, sitting up-right in my bed. Another nightmare, huh, what shitty luck I’m having this week. I crept out of bed, slipping my slippers on. “Eclair, what are you doing,” whispered Emily, rubbing her head as she sat up. “Umm… going down stairs, to see if dad’s still awake”, I said, slowly exiting the room. I tip-toed down the stairs, gripping the banister tightly. “Eclair? Why aren’t you in bed ya little rascal,” I turned round just to find uncle Splendor behind me. I had forgotten, father invited my uncles… well, mine and Emily’s uncles round. If you’re wondering, yes, my father is Slender man, so what. I stood up straight, smiling a bit. “Your father’s still awake, we’re just discussing… things”, he said, looking off to the side.
I kept going down the stairs, uncle Splendor behind me. I turned the corner, slightly peeking my head past the wall. “Eclair, I know you’re there, don’t try to hide,” dad’s voice echoed through the hall. I walked towards him, hands behind my back. “Another nightmare I’m guessing,” his tone was subtle and reassuring, but I’m always nervous around my uncles, especially uncle Offender. I nodded my head, sitting on the floor next to his seat. “I might as well tell you what’s going on since… there’s going to be few changes.” My ears twitched, my tail quivered. “I’m going to be taking in a few of Splendor’s ‘proxies’, so there will be a few new faces around the mansion,” dad said, my tail started shaking, “ They’re all around your’s and Emily’s age, the youngest is eight though”. I stood up, my tail was going half mad. “Well, that should be exciting, Emily’s awake so I might as well tell her too”, I said.
Dad just had to nod and I sped off to my room. I couldn’t wait to meet these new people, uncle Splendor often told me and Emily about them but we rarely got a chance to meet them. Me and Emily are half sisters, we have the same dad but not the same mum, don’t ask how that happened. We’re both eighteen but we still act as If we’re thirteen, and somehow I’m dark skinned… probably because I look almost identical to my mother. I ran through the door, almost falling through it. “Holy shit! Are you alright Eclair,” yelled Emily, trying to cover herself with a blanket. “Emily, dad said he’s taking in some of the proxies! Isn’t that exiting!” I said. Emily’s tai started quizering, then shaking, the next thing you knew we were both jumping up and down in delight. We both enjoy the company of them since we’ve all been through some tough shit but even with a bad past, they never fail to make us laugh.
It was around three in the afternoon when they arrived, but for some reason I was nervous to go see them. Even though we love being around them we don’t know whose going to be there. It’s scary almost. I opened the door just a crack, and before I could peek through someone jumped through the door, scaring both me and Emily. “Sup fuckers!” Shouted a rough voice. I jumped back, landing on my ass as I fell. We all started laughing after we realised it was Jeff who had jumped through the door.
I went around the mansion, peeking through all the bedroom doors to see who had joined. But when I got to the fifth room, I saw someone who I didn’t recognise. He was wearing goggles and a mouth guard, his hood was down and he was sitting on the bed, twitching slightly. I pushed against the door slightly, which was a bad idea since the door swung open and I ended up falling inside. “What the… Hey! Who are you?” he said, walking up towards me, a hatchet in each hand. I put my hands over my head, my ears dropped down. “Woah, s-sorry, didn’t mean to scare you kiddo, I’m not going to hurt you”. I looked up whimpering slightly. The boy had propped his goggles up, my gaze locked on his piercing brown eyes. He helped me up, putting his hatchets away. “I’m Toby by the way, Ticci Toby,” he said, I could sense a smile on his face, even with the mouth guard. “Eclair, are you alright?” I spun round to see Ben, a nintendo switch in his hands. I smiled, putting my thumbs up.
I turned back to Toby, he had pulled down his mouth guard, exposing his mouth and a scar stretching over his cheek. So I wasn’t the only one with scars… who knew. “God, that looks painful, we have plasters, I can go get you one if you want,” I said, looking away shyly. “I don’t feel pain, not after the car crash, I’ll take up the offer though”. After getting him a plaster I went back to my room. I opened the door and froze…
